Simulation of a machine tool control
In the course of the development of a new series of machine tools, alternative circuit strategies were examined and their expected operating behaviour was analysed in numerous simulation studies.
The complex interplay between the supply unit and the highly diverse control components was studied intensively, as was the pipe’s influence on the dynamics of the moved axes. Another point of interest was the dynamic performance that switching valves needed to have to realise the desired machine cycle times.
The model highlights the abilities of simulation technology to provide help early on in the development of hydraulic systems, even when these systems are complex.
