Virtual testrig for crop sprayer boom controls

The illustrated virtual test center was designed to support the development of an electro-hydraulic boom control for trailed and self-propelled crop protection sprayers.

The complex simulation model includes a precise reproduction of the boom kinematics, the dynamic behaviour of each relevant hydraulic drive as well as the electric control of all seven degrees of motion.
Furthermore, the sprayer can be dragged over a test course by means of an automated steering tractor model in order to examine the reaction of the boom control to realistic driving maneuvers and uneven ground.
